Building Certifications

Certification identifies the best of the best in the remodeling industry. There are about 1,000 Certified Remodelers (CR) recognized nationally. Jarro has the largest number of certified employees of any remodeling company nationally.
CertificationsBelow are the NAHB (National Association of Home Builders) and NARI (National Association of the Remodeling Industry) certifications they have achieved.

CGR™ (Certified Graduate Remodelor):

This remodeling graduate program offered through NAHB's University of Housing teaches extensive technical, business, and customer skills well beyond those of the average contractor. And unlike most graduate degrees, CGRs renew their designation every three years with continuing education and abiding by a strict code of ethics. "The CGR designation is the highest level of education in the remodeling industry," said Remodelers Council Chairman Vince Butler, "these home remodelers bring unmatched professionalism to every job, resulting in the best possible end product for homeowners."

CR™ (Certified Remodeler):

NARI designed to recognize and identify full-service remodelers and their employees. CRs must have had a minimum of five years experience and be employed by or own a firm that derives 90 percent of its sales volume from remodeling.

CAPS™ (Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist):

CAPS certified professionals have been taught the strategies and techniques for designing and building aesthetically enriching, barrier-free living environments. The NAHB University CAPS program goes beyond design to address the codes and standards, common remodeling expenditures and projects, product ideas and resources needed to provide comprehensive and practical aging in place solutions. CAPS graduates pledge to uphold a code of ethics and are required to maintain their designation by attending continuing education programs and participating in community service.

CKBR™ (Certified Kitchen & Bath Remodeler):

This designation allows homeowners to recognize Jarro employees who do extensive work in kitchen and bath remodeling, and have gone the extra mile to improve themselves and our capabilities in these areas. A relatively new NARI program, CKBR addresses the unique aspects of kitchen & bath design and remodeling, including technical expertise and new product knowledge.

CLC™ (Certified Lead Carpenter):

NARI designed for lead carpenters who are skilled and knowledgeable in the technical, hands-on aspects of their work, but also have demonstrated skill and knowledge in project management, supervision and customer service. Candidates must have had a minimum five years experience with at least two of those years as a lead carpenter. Jarro believes in providing a quality product by encouraging their lead carpenters to become certified so they can produce better jobs, be more professional, run projects more efficiently, and interact more proactively with our customers.

BPI/Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® Certification

Energy Star BPI Sponsored by the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA), Home Performance with ENERGY STAR is a home improvement program designed to save homeowners up to 40% on their monthly energy bills. As a participating contractor, Jarro has earned certification through the Building Performance Institute (BPI), a national resource for building science technology that sets standards for assessing and improving the energy performance of homes. BPI Accredited Home Performance Contractors use the most advanced state-of-the-art equipment to test the home and identify energy efficiency improvements. EPA Lead-Safe Certification

EPA Lead Certified Our work - whether it's remodeling a kitchen, finishing a basement or adding on a dormer - occasionally puts us in contact with lead-based paint. Beginning April 22, 2010, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires that contractors performing renovation, repair and painting projects that disturb more than six square feet of paint in homes, child care facilities, and schools built before 1978 must be certified and trained to follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination.
